Care and Attention
Every care is taken to ensure our products are safe and will provide many years of utility, interest and enjoyment. They feature high quality and unusual recycled materials, the bases and subject elements in particular. These are chosen with care but sometimes have slight imperfections which where possible are attended to.
ALL electrical components are new, and made to the highest standard, and every lamp is tested for earth insulation, followed by a full and certified PAT (Portable Appliance Testing Class 2/full) test.
The content of this website and any publicity material is given in good faith and believed to be an honest and fair reflection of this high quality product.
Materials and the environment
Every Brocklamp is made from scratch. Natural materials are used wherever possible including wood, ceramic, steel and brass. The only plastics are where they occur in reclaimed features, and in the wiring and electrical fittings of the lamps and some lampshades.
Although the cable has plastic insulation, all lamps use fabric covered wiring to reduce use of artificial materials (and because it looks nicer). Cables are secured with epoxy, rather than plastic fittings. This is both more secure and environmentally sympathetic.
Our feature items are reclaimed and upcycled from a variety of courses such as charity shops, boot fairs, antiques shops or donated by friends, giving each part a new life as part of a unique object instead of ending in landfill.
Unless there is a specific reason our wood products are finished with Danish Oil, a polymerised natural linseed oil. Danish Oil is completely safe. You can even eat your food off it safely, but we don't recommend it!
Packing and transport
Free delivery within the New Forest and surrounding area. Lamps which are couriered will be wrapped securely in bubble wrap, and sealed in a double skin cardboard box for transit. Orders will be posted within 48 hours, and may take two working days to arrive. Should Parcel Force be unavailable, an alternative courier such as UPS or Evri will be engaged.
Guarantee and returns
Despite the care we take including packing and despatch, things can go wrong.
If a lamp is damaged or not working on arrival please let us know as soon as you can, and certainly no later than 14 days from delivery. Please retain the packaging, and return postage will be refunded.
If you are unhappy with the purchase you may return your lamp within 14 days (for notification from delivery) and a further 14 days (for the return) provided it remains in the condition it was sent out in. The cost of this return and packing is borne by the customer. On receipt a full refund will be issued for the initial purchase price and delivery.
Every Brocklamp carries a one year working guarantee provided it has been used in a responsible manner and not subject to abuse.
