About Us

Brocklamps is run by David Bennett as a sole-trader. He is based in Brockenhurst at the heart of the New Forest, and runs the company from an office and workshop at home. 

‘I always wanted to do something creative. Sadly I don’t have the gifts or perseverance to play the piano, paint fine pictures, or compose moving poetry.

‘But making these special and unique lamps combines creative thought, problem solving, and hands-on practical skills to produce special and appealing products. Art and engineering.

‘I worked as a journalist and then in public relations. I was a senior officer in the RAF reserves, and ran my own media company before retiring in 2018. I’ve still got the energy and enthusiasm to do something very different and Brocklamps is it. I thoroughly enjoy my work and I am delighted that others share my enjoyment of the results!’

David is also an author and editor mainly of local history. His latest book is available in The Shop .
